38 Years of Trusted Care, owner operated and independent
Founded by NZ General and Maternity Nurse Margie Blackwood, Kids’ Kampus has supported families across central Auckland for more than three decades. We’re proudly stand-alone, and this independence means we answer only to our families and our values — not shareholders.
Spacious and homely
Our centre spans half an acre in the heart of Mt Eden — a rare find in central Auckland. We’ve converted two large family homes into warm, welcoming spaces where children can move freely between rooms and explore large outdoor play areas that feel like backyard adventures.

Relationship first
We’re not just here for your child — we’re here for you too. We see ourselves as an extension of your whānau, and place huge importance on building trust and communication with families. Our goal is to make your child’s transition between home and centre smooth, supported, and secure. You’ll always know how your child is doing, what they’re learning, and who they’re becoming.
How your child will learn
We believe children are born with unique strengths, interests, and potential — and it’s our job to nurture those from day one. Rather than fill minds with facts, we create experiences that spark curiosity, inspire critical thinking, and help children grow into thoughtful, capable humans. Children are given choices, responsibilities, and the space to explore who they are — supported by attentive teachers who help bring out the scientist, artist, leader, or nurturer in each one.
Who will be looking after your child?
Our teaching team is experienced, diverse, and deeply committed. Some bring wisdom from decades in early childhood education. Others bring fresh energy and creative ideas. All are passionate about supporting each child’s growth and forming meaningful relationships with families. With our low ratios and strong team culture, teachers have the time and space to truly understand and support each child — building confidence, independence, and belonging every day.
Our mission
For almost 40 years, we’ve supported families through one of life’s busiest and most important seasons. We’re here to partner with you — not just to educate, but to nurture the next generation of capable, compassionate Kiwi kids. Because while knowledge matters, character is what truly shapes a life.
