Open since May 1988, Kids’ Kampus has an established reputation for the provision of quality childcare services to infants and young children during their early formative years.
We work in partnership, supporting and consulting with parents, through this season of the young family. Your child receives expert care from our fully qualified Early Childhood Teachers, while enjoying age and developmentally appropriate programmes in a first class environment.
Children who leave Kids’ Kampus are confident and skilled to move forward into the
next phase of their lives.
Kids’ Kampus provides a full-day childcare facility. Our Koru House caters for children aged 0 to 2.5 years, and our Kauri House caters for children aged 2.5 to 5 years. The Centres are adjacent to one and other and are situated in the middle of residential Mt Eden. We are well-placed to provide services for families who live in Mt Eden and the surrounding suburbs such as Sandringham, Mt Albert, St Lukes and Three Kings, or those who travel through the area for work.
Our centres have been beautifully created from traditional Mt Eden bungalows. Each home has been extended and thoughtfully re-purposed to create a welcoming and relaxed environment. The essence of a home has been maintained, with our open-plan kitchen and family rooms being the heart of our centres, where we gather to eat, play, and chat with each other. In winter, we like to cosy up around the fire and read stories, especially if its a very rainy day outside!
As with any home, children are not restricted to spending all day in any one room. The teachers carefully utilise all areas of our homes, ensuring there is opportunity to keep children engaged as they choose which spaces they'd like to work in. This flexibility means we can adapt to varying weather conditions or the projects children are investigating at the time.
Kids' Kampus is open Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.30pm. We open 52 weeks of the year and only close on weekends and statutory holidays.
Children are required to be enrolled for a minimum of two days per week, and they must attend for at least six hours each day.
Morning and Afternoon Tea snacks are provided by us. This consists of a range of finger food, served with fresh fruit each day. Teachers also regularly include baking for snack time as part of the experiences at the centre. This provides another opportunity to add to children's sense of belonging and contribution as they help prepare food to share with the wider KK family.
Parents provide children with a packed lunch each day. We encourage you to use this as an opportunity to build healthy eating habits and develop your child's readiness to manage a lunchbox at school. We're also able to refrigerate anything needing to be kept cool for lunch time, or to heat anything you'd like served hot for your child.
Packed lunches from home also provide a range of other benefits for parents. If your child is particular about the food they eat, you can pack a lunch you know they will enjoy. This also means you can monitor the quantity of food your child is getting and rest assured that any special food requirements such as allergies are being managed in the best way possible.
If you are interested in enrolment at Kids Kampus or would like further information, please get in touch and make a time to visit. We would be happy to show you around and answer any of your questions in person.
Once you have had an opportunity to visit, you are welcome to fill in some contact details on an Expression of Interest form, which will be give you a spot on our waiting list. Its best to do this once you're starting to consider what might be best for your child to give you some time to plan their transition into the centre. It is free to be on our waiting list and there is no obligation to take up a place once it is offered to you.
